With the recent Golden Globes and the star-studded events over the New Year, some of the world’s most beautiful women stepped out and showed us what’s next for the 2012 beauty world.
Charlize Theron – The Power of Pastel
First off is the very talented and equally glamorous Charlize Theron.
Charlize attended the Golden Globe awards sporting a look not previously seen on the actress. Known for her sultry style, Charlize opted for a softer look with a fair complexion and pastel pink lips. To add to her 60’s inspired look, she also wore a crystal Alice band over her tousled blond side bun. Matching item alert - the Tresor Paris Laye bracelet would make the ideal accompaniment to Charlize's feminine headband, £149.

Jessica Alba – Honey I’m Home
Jessica is extremely lucky with her natural beauty, but for a red carpet look, she knows how to work it. Enhance your natural complexion with a soft smokey eye and a shimmery bronzer.
The two-tone bronzers are best, as you can really blend the different shades to the contours of your face. Estee Lauder ‘Bronze Goddess’ is exactly what Jessica has achieved with this look. £27. Steal Jessica's style with a pair of chandelier earrings - the Tresor Paris Briantes drop down earrings are a sure fire way to set off a sunkissed tan.
Rihanna – Burgundy Beauty
Our next favourite beauty look comes from arguably, the most attractive woman in the world, Rihanna! Rihanna has teamed this lip with perfectly matched hair, but don’t worry, you’re not expected to do the same. What’s great about a burgundy lip tint is that no matter what your skin colour, you can pull it off – Rihanna has a beautiful bronze glow, but this shade also works well with porcelain skin.
When it comes to all-rounders, Benefit is a great brand to turn to and this lip balm priced at £14 is ideal for Rihanna-esque lips. What’s more, it works as a cheek stain and will protect against those harmful rays with a factor 15 SPF! Ooh na na!
Emily Blunt – Dainty and Dewy
Emily Blunt is a true English rose. Little is needed to transform this actress but she sets off her green eyes with a matching shadow and carefully placed liner.
Bobbi Brown knows eyes inside out. Bobbi’s creamy shadows stay put from dawn until dusk and are super wearable.
Angelina Jolie – Devilicious
Is she a saint or a sinner? Make-up wise speaking of course! Angelina has teamed a creamy base with just enough coverage alongside a devil red lip of the same texture. NB – always team creamy textures together and the same for matte. Angelina couldn’t resist adding a bit of smoke around those eyes and she’s done it perfectly with this look. The winning item here is her foundation. Use a brush to apply a liquid foundation from the inside of the face, outwards, or better still, use a foundation with a brush included – YSL’s is a must have!
