Hot Shopping Spot of the Month

London Stylings' Hot Shopping Spot of the Month!
Situated next to London’s diamond district, Hatton Garden, is London Stylings’ ‘Hot Shopping Spot of the Month’: Leather Lane. If you jump off the tube at Farringdon or Chancery Lane you’re not far off from finding this London back street. Come take a walk, we’re going on a fashion hunt!

Leather Lane Market - smoothies, accessories & more!

At first look you may think that Leather Lane is a bit on the shabby side. It’s busy and busily, there’s food cooking, people checking out DVDs and the stalls are jammed packed with clothes hanging from their roofs. There are no shiny lights, mannequins or dressing rooms here. They’re not pumping out Christmas number ones as you saunter about. That is probably a good thing; you need to concentrate on hunting through the rails because there is certainly a reason that after 300 years, this market’s still going strong.

No stalling - Leather Lane Market draws in the crowds.

Give your eyes a good rub and then take a second look. Leather Lane Market is a diamond in the rough. There is an impressive collection of eateries and cafes that give you a huge amount of choice at a fantastic price.  For example it has been known that a curry to feed the five thousand is available at just £4! There are Mexicans, pizza places, some very laid back coffee shops and a sushi to find. Anything you want, you pretty much have it here!

Dress to impress - a great range of colours & sizes!

But back to clothes stalls, while there are regulars, it does vary from day to day. You’ll also be able to pick up anything from films and toothpaste to shoes and £20 tracksuits – all good things to get your January ‘New Years resolution’ into gear. Before you get down to the gym though, why not find a party dress for the festive season?  The thing about Leather Lane Market is you have to get stuck in! You may recognise a few styles from some of your favourite shops. While these items remain anonymous, with their labels cut out, they do sometimes reveal their original price. The game of this shopping expedition is to find an incredible bargain. A beautifully beaded neckline on a pink chiffon dress definitely has the detail that would be found on the frocks of designer labels. It came in at £12 - amazing!  Then, a gold sequined tulip skirt was spotted, market price £12, label price £90! A saving of £78 pounds, not too shabby…
